Fyrinnae Halloween bliss!

Monday, October 10th, 2011

Last week, I received the most wonderful package!  Mr. F of Fyrinnae was gracious enough to gift me with their brand spankin’ new Halloween collection.  These are SERIOUSLY some gorgeous colors.  In my opinion, if you don’t pick up anything else, purchase Book of the Dead (the gold eyeshadow), and Sweetest Poison (the red lip lustre).  Book of the Dead is the gold that I’ve always wanted.  It stays perfectly gold on my NC42 skin.  It doesn’t turn yellow, champagne, or look burned.  It’s pure liquid gold, and it seems like it stays true on any skin tone.  The way it looks on Grey is exactly the way it looks on me.  Sweetest Coffin looks like a classic red with red sparkles in the tube.  When I wear it though, it is the most perfect wearable red that leans slightly coral/orange.  It’s absolutely beautiful, and compliments my skin tone well.

My non-traditional Valentine

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

I don’t know about you people, but to me Valentine’s day is useless.  Up until I got married, I never really had a good V-day.  After I got married, I had good ones but I never understood the point.  I love my husband 24/7/365.  We have birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate, so why do we need yet another day to single out our love to each other?  We show each other our love all day every day, so V-day is quite pointless to us.  Of course, being a girl I still make him send me flowers every once in a while, lol.  Seeing as how I don’t believe in a traditional V-day,

80′s Barbie

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

I feel like I’m always apologizing to you guys.  Remember how my laptop broke before?  And do you remember how it started working miraculously again?  Well….it’s not working any more.  I’m very frustrated now, as I STILL have not received my quote from Tokyo to get my laptop replaced.  I don’t have much time left here, which brings me to my next tidbit of info.  We’re moving next month.  We’re going back to Southern California.  If I can’t stay in Okinawa, that is where I’d like to be (excluding being sent to another country, which isn’t possible right now.)  I don’t have any exact fly-out dates yet, but probably around 01/07/2011 I’ll be on a plane.  Life is really hectic right now, and blogging is difficult without my macbook.  I will still be here as best as I can though!  I <3 you guys!  I also owe you guys a giveaway, for real.

Here’s my look.  It honestly reminds me of a Barbie in the 80′s, hence the name of this post.  I really really like this color combo.  It makes me happy :-p

Swatches: Fyrinnae Dia de Los Muertos (and others)

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

And here kids, we have the last of my Fyrinnae eyeshadows!  These are actually my 2 most recent orders, received after I had already started swatching by color family.  My first order was of the Dia de Los Muertos collection (denoted by the skulls in the photo.)My two freebies were Dinosaur Plushie and Optimism.  I have a slight story for these two.  Mr. F himself kindly included Dinosaur Plushie in my order, when I ordered the Dia de Los Muertos collection.  (It is not a part of the collection, but released at the same time.)  He left quite a cute note as well, that made me giggle :)  Optimism was actually sent to me by Fyrinnae’s Chemist.  Lady Crow and I were lamenting over how beautiful the shadow was, and the fact that it is no longer available.  The Chemist told Lady Crow that he had a little left over, and he would send her a jar.  Lo and behold, a jar also found it’s way into my order as well!  I squealed like an idiot.  I’m sure my husband thought I was mad.  Those guys are seriously pure gold <3

My Moonagedaydream comes with a Parental Advisory

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

I’ve been noticing lately that I ALWAYS reach for my Fyrinnae pigments.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my Fyrinnae.  However, a LOT of my stash was going untouched.  Part of this is because all of my loose shadows are stored in two different places, which makes it harder to remember to use them.  This will be fixed when I move back to the states anyways, so I’m not too worried about it right now.  However I am going to keep trying to mix up the brands that I am using right now.  This look contains a plethora of companies, and I REALLY liked this look.  I love how the lid and the crease have a gradient that match each other.  It was actually a little unintentional, lol.

My Tropical Acidic Reign

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

I have a different sort of look for you guys today.  I wish to God that the camera had actually caught how vibrant these colors are.  This just looked so amazing in person, and I received a lot of compliments on this day (even though my hair was looking weird, lol.)  Speaking of my hair….I’m thinking of a change.  I’m a little tired of Fuschia Shock being in my hair.  I personally think the color is still quite nice.   However, you can’t tell how pink it is anymore.  A lot of people actually mistake my hair for being red now.  While I like red hair and have worn it before, thats not want I want in my life right now.  I want unnatural colors (although I suppose this particular shade of red is unnatural as well?  lol).  I have some ideas floating around in my head, but I want to hear what you guys think.  Any suggestions on what I should do to my hair next?  I think I’m open to pretty much everything.

Before I get to listing the products, I wanted to do a little shout out.  Natsumi, in retrospect I think this look would work well for you as an all-over green look.  I haven’t actually done the all-green look you requested yet, but it occurred to me that this would work as well.  Also, I still need to post your “hint-of-green” request look. -__-

Swatches: Fyrinnae Arcane Magics-Pt. 2

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Jumping back into my “Swatch Fyrinnae” project, here is the next set of Arcane Magics that I have for you.  I know there’s only 3 here, but I was trying to keep them within their color families.  I tried the best I could to capture their shifts, but it wasn’t happening very well.  To be fair, some of these (like Avian Shapeshifter) don’t have as strong of a shift as say, Glitterboi.  They are beautiful nonetheless.  I hope you enjoy :)

Fyrinnae shipping changes

Saturday, November 13th, 2010

Hey guys, just a little quick update for you. I thought I would post this, to help spread the word. The rumored changes in shipping are true, and are now in effect. Before, all orders $20+ had free shipping (not sure about international rates). Well USPS keeps upping their rates, and Fyrinnae’s customer base is growing bigger and bigger. That being said, offering so much free shipping was really starting to become counter-productive. Here is the new breakdown for shipping rates. Trust me, it is still EXTREMELY reasonable.

All orders $40 and up ship FREE.

Small orders have low rates:
Shipping cost for US orders under $40 is from $1.75 to $3.00 (First class).

Shipping cost for orders under $40 to Canada is from $2.25 to $3.25.

Shipping cost for orders under $40 to all other worldwide destinations is from $2.75 to $4.00.

Basically, you will not pay more than $3 for domestic shipping, and no more than $4 for international. To me, that is extremely reasonable.

Before you bitch about that, let me remind you that MANY of you people tried to partake in Sleek’s 50% sale. THEIR int’l shipping is $13FUCKING50. I don’t think so.

Count your blessings :)
