My crazy 80′s
Saturday, June 4th, 2011Hi !! I have a super random post for you today/night. I’ve been really bad with factoring in time to actually take photos of my daily looks. Hopefully, since i have now actually realized this fact, it will get better. That’s usually how it works, right? Well anyways, I did this look about a week ago. I pulled inspiration from the shirt I was wearing. I wish I could show you what it looked like, but I forgot to take a picture of it and I can’t find it through google image search. Just think 80′s graphics and rainbow colors. Pretty aweseome, right?
B3 – May Edition
Monday, May 23rd, 2011Enter: Beauty From The Earth
Wednesday, May 11th, 2011A few weeks back I was given the opportunity to review some products from Beauty From The Earth. I was quite glad for the opportunity to do so, as I have hemmed and hawed over their website for a very long time. They have some very beautiful pigments to offer and a lot of well known bloggers love their product. What stopped me from actually placing an order with them was the fact that they do sell a fair amount of (clearly marked) unblended pigments. I often forget to check for little details like that, so I never actually got around to ordering from them. If you are on the fence about ordering from them definitely try some samples. It’s worth it. Read on!
Miss me?
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011I have been soooo MIA lately =/ I miss my blog, I miss all of you, and I miss my twitter! What have I been up to lately?
Well…..for those of you who don’t know, I finally got bangs. This picture doesn’t really show it, but they are cut at a straight angle. I love them, and so does everyone else :) They were cut about 2 weeks ago, and already need to get them cut shorter again.
Beauty Blog’s Backstage – April Edition
Monday, April 25th, 2011Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate!! Here is my monthly Beauty Blog’s Backstage post. This month, I actually got to interview LiAnn herself (the queen of SparkleCrack Central, a very informative site on almost all cosmetics. This was actually a really pleasant interview!! I’ve only talked sporadically with LiAnn in the past, and I didn’t realize she was such a cool person!!
1.) What got you into makeup in the first place?
When I was a teen, I was doing a sleepover at a friend’s house and we put on a little bit of makeup – very little, very subtle, “not getting busted by the parents” type of stuff. I wore it home, Mom praised me for not putting on way too much like some teenagers do, and there my interest kind of withered. I dabbled with foundation and lip gloss periodically through high school, because That’s What High School Girls Do is mess around with makeup; but I didn’t like the way cream foundation felt on my skin. When I tried BE 25 years later, on a whim, I was thrilled to find that my face didn’t feel like it was submerged in axle grease…but it still looked good. So I did a little bit of research online, hit Ebay (a lot), and dove headfirst into reading a few beauty blogs and the QVC makeup forum. I’m still learning things, and I probably always will be learning new things. But…what’s life, without new stuff to learn?
Enter: Candy’s Sweet Treats
Wednesday, March 30th, 2011Before I get this review started, I owe an apology to the owner of Candy’s Sweet Treats. This review has been a loooong time in the coming. Candy actually sent these to me about a month and a half before I moved back to the states. Between everything that has happened between now and then, I just haven’t had the time or energy to crank out blog posts like I should. Now that things are slowly starting to settle down more, I have been accepting more review requests, and getting back into the blogosphere again. I definitely missed being into the full swing of things! Candy, I apologize to you for taking so long >_<
Anyways, onto the review. Below is a picture of all of the product she sent me. It does not include a sample of “OMFG The best primer ever” that she sent me afterwards. I am not sure what her standards are for samples, as she sent me a very assorted variety of jars and clamshells. (Side note, I HATE clamshells. I’m just too clumsy for them.)

Midnight on my nails
Wednesday, March 30th, 2011This manicure is about a week old now, but I just HAD to share it with you guys. I absolutely loved it, and couldn’t stop staring at my nails. What do you think?
Since you can’t see my Irish blood…….
Friday, March 18th, 2011Here’s a St. Patty’s Day FOTD for you! And if you’re wondering, yes I really am Irish. My grandmother was an immigrant :) I really wish the camera had caught the iridescence of this look. It was completely lost in translation =(
Oh, and for those of you wondering, my son is doing really well after his surgery! The doctor said that it would be at least 6 weeks until we knew for sure if the surgery took. However, we can REALLY see a difference already! The very first time we went to lunch, everything was on the floor! The menus, the silverware, the napkins, everything! Lol but he was happy and I enjoyed it. He’s so much more observant and responsive now. I pray to God that walking follows very shortly.
P.S. PLEASE let me tell you how this damned eyebrow threader jacked up my left eyebrow!!! I’m SO pissed off. I finally grew them back out into the shape that they need to be. I go in to get a cleanup, and end up missing 1/4″ off my left eyebrow!! I didn’t notice it for a few days because I wasn’t wearing makeup. As soon as I went back to wearing makeup, I noticed that my eyebrows are very even. I’m so sad about this. Now I have to grow them out. AGAIN. UUUGGGGHHHHHH.
I’ve got the flakie crazies
Saturday, March 12th, 2011I am currently obsessed with flakies. A friend was kind enough to let me buy her back-up bottle of Sally Hansen’s Hidden Treasure off of her, and I fell in love. This is quite unfortunate since I am quite broke right now. I really want to have flakies in every color, but most flakies are either hard to obtain or are too much for my non-existent funds at the moment. So, you can imagine my joy when I went to troll Walgreens today and found Sinful Colors Green Ocean! It’s a little bit chunkier than I would like, but it’s sooo pretty!! My dear friend Rebecca asked me to swatch it over some colors for her, so I decided to share with you guys! (By the way. For any of you wanting to keep up with the crazies of the MMU world, her blog is a GREAT source for factual information.)

Just a touch of black….
Monday, March 7th, 2011Whew. Hello again. I’ll cut to the chase. Life is slightly sucky right now. I’m having a little bit of a struggle finding a job, and it’s not making me feel very good about myself. No, there’s nothing wrong with me or my resumes. Apparently people only want entry level workers around here, which is making it very hard to find what I’m looking for. It’s never worth driving 60 min round trip for $9 an hour. That’s just stupid. But, the lack of a job and the amount of bills we accrued moving back to California is weighing heavily on me. I don’t feel like playing with makeup much lately, and I don’t have a job to put on makeup for every day right now. I really hope this changes soon. One thing that’s killing me is knowing that I could be going to school right now, but my husband asked me to wait until my car was paid off (next year) to go. I’m struggling with that decision in my brain, but for now I am doing what he asks.
Also, J will be having his eye surgery tomorrow. It’s supposed to be quick and simple, and I’m praying that J doesn’t have any issues with the anesthesia (or anything else) this time. The last time he was fully intubated, he didn’t fully wake up at all that day =/ He barely even got to go home. We’re praying that doesn’t happen this time either.
ANYWAYSSSSSS…..I’ve been wanting to play with black lipstick for a long time. I was curious how it would look on me. I really wasn’t sure what I was “supposed” to pair it with either. This is what I came up with.
