Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Thursday, April 19th, 2012Hello again. Remember me? I’m the girl that used to blog here :-p 久しぶり!Have I been missed? I hope so, because I truly miss you guys too. We won’t go into major details, we’ll just say that life was busy and I want my blog back!
Anyways, I want to start learning a lot more about ingredients that are in all my products, but mainly in hair. I also want to play around with different curl products and various things to restore my hair. What do I need to restore my hair from? Bleaching it. Yea, I’m stupid I know. I REALLY wanted to try purple hair tho. It’s actually still purply-reddish brown right now. I used RAW color, and it never truly hit the color I wanted it to be. What I’m at right now is close tho. I would post pictures, but it’s changing soon anyways. Hopefully this weekend. Then it will be RED and purple! ^_^ Anyways, I digress.
I was browsing the Walgreens by my new apartment (oh yea, I moved again. This time local tho.) For some reason I ended up in the “ethnic” (aka CRAP) aisle, and this product caught my eye. I don’t know why.
The ingredients really caught my eye, and made me think it was a sort of conditioner. I liked what I saw, especially for the price of $9.99! (12oz jar)
Contains: de-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil, Mangifera Indica (mango) seed butter*, Persea Gratissima (avocado) oil, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil*, Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract, silk protein, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) seed oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil, Caprylyl glycol, Sorbitol Esters, essential oil blend, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract and Tocopherol (vitamin E).
*Denotes certified organic ingredients.
The instructions tell you to apply to damp or styled hair to enhance curls, control frizz, and to provide curl control. Um, I don’t think so! I have fine but THICK hair that is only semi-healthy. I applied a tiny amount to a few curls to see the effect on styled hair. Yea no. It SMELLS heavy. It’s not an offensive smell, but it is a greasy floral type of smell. Also, your hair has got to be brillo-pad dry to actually be able to wear this on dry hair and not attract dirt or weigh it down.
That makes perfect sense. After all, the ingredients are mainly oils. GOOD oils, but oils none the less. I can’t imagine using this on my head and actually leaving the house. I imagine that it would also be very skin-clogging if it happened to get onto your face (like if you wear your hair down a lot.) It also contains silk proteins, which can be bad if you use it too much for the condition of your hair. I’ll try it alone as a mask, and I’ll try it in combination with my Enjoy Mask (omg LOVE). Let me know if you want me to post my after-thoughts on this product!
Raven’s Prophecy
Saturday, January 21st, 2012So I decided to do a look for my husband. He’s from Baltimore, and a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens. What’s funny is that the eyeshadow I ended up using was actually called Raven’s Prophecy, from Fyrinnae. That’s big coincidence, as right now the Raven’s are trying to make it to the Superbowl. Don’t tell my husband, but I don’t think they’re gonna make it! :-p (shhhhh) Anyways, I really ended up loving this look. I hope you do to, cuz I miss you guys!!
Do you believe I went to work looking like this? On a MONDAY? Anyways, here’s what I used.
Eyes:
TSFI
Kryolan AquaColor in Strauss Wine
Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Raven’s Prophecy (Arcane Magic) (all over lid)
Urban Decay Ransom (crease)
MAC Naked pigment (highlight)
MAC Expresso as eyebrow powder
Inglot liner #77
Ms Adoro lashes #74
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara to blend lashes together
Ben Nye Blue Neutralizer No.4
Face:
Bare Essentials Prime Time primer
Mac Matchmaster foundation 6.0 (not sure why the swatch is so PINK on the website!)
Mac Studio Fix Powder NC43
Brown eyeshadow from Coastal Scents 26 eyeshadow/blush combo palette as contour
Mac MSF Comfort as blush
Mac Cheek and Cheerful blush as highlight
Do you guys miss me? Do I need to really get back into my blogging? I miss it and I miss you guys!
Is this random enough for you?
Thursday, January 5th, 2012Hi guys! And Omedetou Gozaimasu (Happy New Year). Sorry for my prolonged absence. I keep forgetting to take pictures, and I just started a new job with Ulta :) I finally made it through the holidays, so hopefully you’ll see more of me. I missed you guys!
Anywho, I did a mani that I’m pretty darn proud of, so I thought I’d share it with you guys <3
Halloween Makeup
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011So I didn’t really do anything for Halloween. I had to be at work at 0600 Halloween day, and had to be in at the same time the next day. I wanted to wear drag makeup to work originally, but didn’t have the energy for that at 0430 while I was getting ready. I ended up doing a spinoff of a look that Nymphette, that was actually a spinoff from a Rihanna video.
I used Sugarpill’s Love +, Bulletproof, and Mac Fluidline in BlackTrack. This took all of 5 minutes to do. I didn’t catch a photo of it, but I paired it with a black lip. I worked with 4 guys that morning, and only ONE of them had the balls to ask me what was going on w/ my makeup, lol!! I had fun with it though.

Team Pink Eye Giveaway!!
Sunday, October 23rd, 2011Ok, so I may have fudged things up a bit. I posted my Team Pink Eye EOTD rather prematurely, and now I’m late with my giveaway. I’m sorry, I was busy at work. Better late than never though, right?!
This week, I actually have a giveaway for you!! Geek Chick Cosmetics is responsible for this prize package. It is for a pink Gift set: 5 eyeshadows, 1 lip balm, 1 lipstick. Now I’ve never ordered anything from Geek Chick, but I want to! I’ve never heard anything but rave reviews, and I have a growing wish list.
The fine print:
A $5 donation made to the Susan Komen Foundation (click here to donate) is necessary to consider you for a prize. It is imperative that you understand that the giveaway is being sponsored by Team Pink Eye and the shops involved and not Komen. To enter, please donate $5 using whatever name you will be commenting under (so they can vet the donations), then leave comments WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS on the giveaway blogs. If you don’t do this, you cannot be considered in the runnings. $5, the cost of a pot of eyeshadow, enters you into ALL the drawings being held this week :)
Here is a list of the other blogs involved this week:
Cause I think I’m Cool
Claire’s Beauty
Geeky Nails and Beauty
Portrait of Mai
Sirena Sparklestar
The Glitter Blog
The Painted Moonkin
The Pretty Exclusive
Vampy Varnish
I’m sorry, but I don’t have a pink look for you today. I do have an “I <3 Boobies” bracelet though! (proceeds also to breast cancer research.) It glows in the dark, too! ^_^
Fyrinnae Halloween bliss!
Monday, October 10th, 2011Last week, I received the most wonderful package! Mr. F of Fyrinnae was gracious enough to gift me with their brand spankin’ new Halloween collection. These are SERIOUSLY some gorgeous colors. In my opinion, if you don’t pick up anything else, purchase Book of the Dead (the gold eyeshadow), and Sweetest Poison (the red lip lustre). Book of the Dead is the gold that I’ve always wanted. It stays perfectly gold on my NC42 skin. It doesn’t turn yellow, champagne, or look burned. It’s pure liquid gold, and it seems like it stays true on any skin tone. The way it looks on Grey is exactly the way it looks on me. Sweetest Coffin looks like a classic red with red sparkles in the tube. When I wear it though, it is the most perfect wearable red that leans slightly coral/orange. It’s absolutely beautiful, and compliments my skin tone well.
Team Pink Eye – Week 1
Saturday, October 8th, 2011Hello lovelies! I’ve been itching to start posting again, and thought that this would be the perfect thing to get me back in. In the name of Breast Cancer research, a lot of us ladies and gents in the blogosphere are posting pink looks and hosting giveaways every friday. Now in order to join these giveaways, you must donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen foundation in the name of Team Pink Eye. $5 gets you into ALL of the giveaways for that week! For more information, please visit Team Pink Eye. Without further ado, here is my look!
And a super photoshop-py one just for fun =D
I used a mixture of Fyrinnae, Evil Shades, and Sugarpill. Any questions, let me know! And please please please, donate a little to Breast Cancer research. It’s only the cost of a (cheap) pot of eyeshadow! <3 you!

My IMATS LA 2011 experience
Monday, June 27th, 2011I did it! I finally made it to IMATS! As I’m sure most of you guys realize, IMATS has always been out of reach for me, since I lived in Okinawa. However I’m back in CA now (duh) and I’ve been planning to go since the day I set toe back here. All in all, I am so happy I made it! I set a limit for myself of $300, and I left any cards I had at home. I’ll tell you the pros and cons of the day, and a haul photo (and list) will be at the end :)
