GlitterSniffer: A Retraction.

I no longer can say that I recommend GlitterSniffer Cosmetics.  Not more than 4 hours ago, I posted my experience with GSC, and how happy I was with the order, despite Phyrra’s experience.

Thanks to the help of a good friend, I found out that I was sold pigments that were not approve for COSMETIC use.  I knew when I originally purchased these pigments that they were not eye safe.  I figured I could take the risk, since I assumed they were still cosmetically approved.

Well, I was wrong.  At least four of the pigments that I wasted my money on are SOAP DYES. Pretty much nothing I was sold was cosmetically approved.  That means that I would be forced to use them in some kind of liquid media only (nail polish, hair gel, soap, lotion, candle wax, etc.)  Why do I say that I wasted my money?  I paid $30 for these pigments.  ONE FREAKING SAMPLE, OF ANYTHING, FROM TKB TRADING COMPANY, IS $1.50.  WHAT IS THAT MULTIPLIED BY 7?  $10.50.  ONE THIRD OF THE PRICE THAT I PAID.  These are basically pigments that you can buy from any cosmetic wholesale company.
These pigments are NOT safe to put anywhere on your face, let alone your eyes.  My friend also brought up a very good point.  What if it got on my son?  Or worse, in his mouth?  Food for thought.  Needless to say, it made me very angry.  That thought never even crossed my mind.
I immediately emailed Lela, confronting her about this.  Here is the correspondence:
The one good thing about this whole situation is that Lela agreed to give me a refund within 30 minutes of me opening the dispute.  However, I simply can not endorse a company that willingly and knowingly sold me a product that was actually dangerous to be used the way she marketed it.  Maybe she needs to add more warnings to the listing, besides the fact that it is not eye safe.  Either way, I feel that I was deceived for the purpose of money, and duped into buying cheap ass TKB pigments that I could’ve bought for myself.
As a parting gift, here is my comparison.  The top image is from TKB, and the bottom is my order from GSC.
(oops I numbered them slightly wrong, but you get the gist.)

Hi, I would like more proof. The only colors that are not FDA approved is the 80′s collection. I would like more proof to her colors having soap dyes in them?

  2. Nancy says:

These colors can be used in body paint, etc, but are not approved for the eyes, or lips. TKB states that on their site. “These colors are great for novelty cosmetics and personal care products. They are not approved for use around the eyes.

“In the comparison photo, the Cosmetic Fluorescent colors from left to right are: Yellow, Soft Pink, Blaze Orange and Strong Pink”

It’s really important to be careful about what the inci lists are from your supplier. If they don’t answer questions, don’t buy. Nothing against this seller. She admitted it and repaid the OP.

Boy am I glad I read this post and all the comments. I was just about to place a small order with her. Not even 5 minutes ago. Not a hope in hell of that happening now! Thanks for posting this!
